New Trends in Kitchen Designs

Natural Colours and a touch of Texture

We looked and looked to find to find what other trends could be coming our way (following on from last months Indoor plant trend), thanks to Houzz we now bring to you the latest trends in kitchen design. Europe's top kitchen designers and manufactures showcasing their latest designs. And since this is the world of following trends, we will without a doubt be seeing these soon in Australian trends (lets see what we see in House Rules over the next few renovations). To narrow it down below is a summary of what will be trending in Kitchen Styles soon...

Whats in fashion in the Kitchen:

  • It is going to be more about earthy textures than high gloss minimalist finishes. Imagine, roughened bench tops, timber cabinetry, textured surfaces creating a more warm aesthetic in the kitchen than the cool polished feel.
  • Rich natural colours will steal the spotlight from all-white kitchens that have stayed in fashion so long. think honey tones, deep browns, black marbles with prominent white veining paired with stainless steel and marble to create a warm rich look
  • Space saving all-in-one kitchen hub with a stovetop integrated in the kitchen island
  • Suspended shelving, hanging from the ceiling to house your collectables and potted plants on display instead of hiding them away (oh look! we rhymed!) This is an approach more like what we see at bars and commercial kitchens but using materials like timber with steel to add some warmth and depth to our kitchen.
